Chrysler Concorde.

Since Dodge is working on a new Dodge Stealth, this time as an EV SUV and not a sports car, why not a new Chrysler Concorde?
Chrysler desperately needs something, anything. And it seems the ultra-futuristic Halcyon concept will not be a preview of a realistic production car. Unlike what Stellantis did with the Dodge Charger, Jeep Wagoneer SE and Recon.
While they need a replacement for the aging Pacifica minivan, they could also use a sedan. (or anything else). There is a rumor of a new Chrysler SUV based on the Stealth and Jeep Wagoneer SE coming up as well. But a sedan based on the new Dodge Charger EV would also help a lot.
While the Dodge Stealth name was used from 1990 to 1996, “Concorde” was used on a Chrysler sedan from 1992 to 2004, over 2 generations.
The first generation was part of Chrysler’s all-new “Cab-forward” sedans. With versions from Chrysler, but also Dodge and Eagle. These were all basically the same cars and looked very similar. Which is what most US manufacturers are still doing these days.
The Concorde was especially close to the Eagle model, with only a different front end and rear lights. With a few other details. And of course, more chrome, because you know, Chrysler…
Over its 5-year run, the 1st generation Concorde sales number varied from 50,000 a year to over 70,000. Which wasn’t bad. However, it was not nearly as popular as its cheaper Dodge Intrepid cousin with sales ranging from 70,000 to over 151,000.
For the 1998 model year, Chrysler gambled again with a brand-new design that had no visual connection with the previous generation. The 2nd generation Concorde almost looked like one of these fantastic Chrysler Concepts we had seen in the 1990s.
The new generation was also longer by almost 8 inches yet lighter by over 100 pounds. In my opinion, these were fantastic-looking cars. They were later replaced by the new Chrysler 300, which was another great design. (For some reason, I haven’t seen any of these in many years.)
Let’s hope Stelantis can find it in its heart to give us another great Chrysler sedan. A smooth, powerful, and totally quiet large sedan would really made a great new Chrysler model.
So far, Nissan and Infiniti are rumored to come up with new large sedans based on their EV platform, as well as Lexus.
Why not Concorde?
Guaranteed that Carlos Tavares will eat haggis through his nostrils while playing the bagpipes out another orifice before any of that happens.
Interestingly, the Eagle and Hornet were all original AMC names. But Chrysler should definitely have a big sedan, and use names from their past (not 200 or 300). Stealth, though…? Not so much.
I think this design is beautiful for a new Chrysler Concorde! I also think it would make a great design for the return of the Dodge Stealth.
Honestly, if Stellantis is determined to bring that name plate back, they should honor the history of the vehicle. I have grown weary of these manufacturers that just grab old names of well loved cars and slap them on just anything!
The Stealth was always a sports car! And with the loss of the 2 door Challenger and the 4 door Charger, I think a design like this one could work perfectly as a 4 door Dodge Stealth that would still be a fresh take on the design without ruining the legacy of the name.

CX.. don’t forget Concord (minus the e) was the name AMC used on their redesigned Hornet.. and their redesigned Gremlin was named Spirit (which Chrysler later gave to Dodge). Not to mention the Rebel name now belongs to Ram. Wonder when we’ll get a Jeep Matador or Rambler? đ
Rebel and.concord were also amc names used by chrysler over the years, a lot of amc hertage
Wagoneer is a failure.
The entire Wagoneer lineup should be Chrysler vehicles.

It is the creatively named Wagoneer S!
People think Chrysler is a throwaway brand and needs a clean slate redesign. This isnât true. Itâs a storied brand that has been left out to dry too long that can be revitalized easily. In fact, thatâs the story of its entire history.
Chrysler lineup:
Wagoneer restyled as Imperial
Wagoneer S restyled as Concorde
Pacifica and make them ALL hybrid or PHEV
New 300 on the Charger EV setup
New CONVERTIBLE (âNewportâ?) a hybrid
New PT Cruiser thatâs not a PT Cruiserâthat style of vehicle is more popular than ever
These vehicles could all be popular fleet vehicles, which isnât what you want for a true high end luxury brandâbut if the Imperial is fancy enough to be an Escalade competitor I donât think it matters. The convertible will reintroduce people to Chrysler as a rental car they will actually like. The cars need to be hybrids though in order to be good for fleets like rentals.
I also think what you do is not just restyle the Wagoneer into the Imperial, but also make it exclusively offered with one of the electrified powertrains from the RAM lineup.
A lot of this stuff they already have somewhere within STELLANTIS.
You could also make Chrysler different from RAM and Jeep by making them non-negotiable on price, so buyers that want the traditional car dealership experience thatâs there, but can also capture the Elongated Muskrat-enthusiast NPCs that can only buy cars on website and are afraid to speak to people in person.
