Cura Integra. Coupe $ Sedan.

These illustrations show what a next-generation Acura Integra could look like with the addition of a 2 door coupe.

And yes, that coupe is a long shot. However, we will soon see the rebirth of the 2 door Prelude, so why not…

I remember right before the new Integra actually came out, Acura had published a great-looking teaser. Showing part of the rear bumper with the name Integra. It was actually a bit of a letdown when the car came out.

There is still a lot of the Honda Civic inside. Acura did the exact same thing with the new ADX, which has also the exact same ungainly proportions as the Honda H-RV, which isn’t the best.

The next generation Honda Civic will probably be a more dynamic design, at least let’s hope. And a new Integra could use a nicer design too. What it could also use is a standard Hybrid powertrain from the current Civic hybrid. Which is vastly superior to the older 1.5 Liter Turbo with a CVT combo. Of course, it is still available with a 6-speed manual with the Integra, and probably close to no one is buying that.
Sales of the Integra in general have been far from fantastic with just 32,000 sold last year. And only 20,000 so far this year.

I think it basically needs to be more of an Acura. The old Integras were always related to the Honda Civic, but it wasn’t that obvious at all. This is what Acura needs to do the next time around. It doesn’t need to be that futuristic.

It will be interesting to see how the new Acura ADX does. Since it is the same recipe Acura applied to the Honda H-RV. Although, at least, the Acura has the 1.5 Liter Turbo powertrain that is not available in the Honda.
