2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport.
Last Updated:

As promised a few months ago, Honda has updated the CR-V for the 2026 model year. The biggest change is the addition of a new TrailSport trim.
In general, the 2026 model looks exactly the same as the current version. The only changes reported by Honda are a larger screen, wireless charging, and wireless CarPlay. Now all standard. That is really not much for a “mid-cycle refresh”.
Wityh over 363,000 units sold last year, I guess they figure no changes are really needed. And the current design can go unchanged for another 2 or 3 years without affecting sales a bit.
While Honda made an effort to turn the new Passport TrailSport into a more capable off-road vehicle, no such work has been done on the TrailSport version of the CR-V, This is basically a visual upgrade.
Honda even uses the word “gnarlier” in their official description:
“As with previous TrailSport models, the adventure-ready CR-V gets a raft of styling tweaks to make it look gnarlier, including lower bumper trims front and rear that resemble real off-road skid plates. There’s orange-tinged detailing on the badges, gloss black trim for the door handles, window trim and spoiler, plus the option of the Ash Green metallic paint from the Passport.
They even admit this is not a real trailsport model by saying this: “Trailsports also get Shark Gray 18-inch alloys with recessed valve stems to improve protection from rocks and branches when travelling off the beaten track, and come wrapped in Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires. But unlike the similarly-badged Passport, there’s no special suspension tune and no real skid plates because this TrailSport is less likely to be sent on a real adventure.”
So, no real adventures and basically no changes for 2026…
Honda is nuts thinking this is sufficient for a Trailsport badge and premium pricing. Not even foglights. And black on black again. Tired AF of this.
