It looks like an all-new front end (and more) is coming for the Kia Seltos next year.
Let’s hope the changes bring a simpler look. The current front end is quite busy. It’s actually kind of all over the place with chrome bits, multiple grilles, complicated headlight design, etc…
They sold over 46 000 of these last year, so I guess they are popular somewhere. I have only seen 2 or 3 around where I live. That is still almost half of the Honda HR-V sale numbers.
But quite a bit more than the Mazda CX-30 (Around 38 000 sold last year). And I see these everywhere…

You're saying Hyundai/Kia only had 161 in 6 years?
I read that it will be getting the Niro's hybrid powertrain plus the new dash with the digital screens.
I've owned several Hyundai's and Kias over the years. I've NEVER had any major issues with them such as the "mobile fireplace" one. I've owned a 2004 Sonata,a 2005 XG 300, a 2013 Santa Fe Sport, a 2014 Azera, and I currently drive a 2020 Sonata. Most of my family has Hyundai products as well; including the vehicles that were recalled. NEVER any problems. Also, I'd agree with Toyota and Mazda being more reliable, but Honda? Honda has had some reliability issues in the past few years, and since Hyundai and Kia are revamping their lineup, their reliability has gone a bit down.
Kia/hyundai buyers should be given a free Fire Extinguisher with every purchase.
And be advised to hold onto their old Civic/corolla/mazda as a backup vehicle if and when their Kia/Hyundai vehicle suffers catastrophic engine failure or catches on fire.

-DETROIT — U.S. auto safety regulators have stepped up a series of investigations into engine fires that have plagued Hyundai and Kia vehicles for more than six years.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says a new engineering analysis investigation covers more than 3 million vehicles from the 2011 through 2016 model years. The agency has received 161 complaints of engine fires, some of which occurred in vehicles that had already been recalled.
Engine failures and fires have dogged the Korean automakers' vehicles since September 2015 when the company issued an engine failure recall. Since then it has issued at least eight more recalls for a host of engine problems, according to NHTSA documents posted on its website Monday.

– to be honest Vince, i actually like the hyundai/kia products but i do not put much trust or faith in them as they are still behind Toyota/ Honda/Mazda in terms of long term reliability. I am in the Auto trades and have chatted with mechanics over the years. Bring up the subject of buying a new or used Hyundai/Kia vehicle and these guys will sneer and tell me to buy something Japanese instead. They remind me in a way of BMW vehicles. Seem pretty terrific when new, give it 203 years or so, the head aches begin and you wonder why you bought a german car to begin with.
