Buick Electra-C

GM has recently announced the 1st Buick EV for North America will be late, again.
While Buick doesn’t offer an EV over here yet, they already have 3 on sale in China. The Buick Velite is an older model based on the Volt. But the Buick Electra E5 and especially the really cool Buick Electra E4 have been on sale over there for over a year. Both are based on GM’s Ultium platform. Buick just introduced 2 new EV concepts a few weeks ago, also in China, a sedan called the Electra L, and the LT wagon. And they both look great.
What if GM went nuts and decided to show us a new future Buick convertible, also based on the Ultium platform?
The illustration above shows what such a crazy hallucination could look like.
Of course, the last convertible sold by Buick was not a hit. At all. The Cascada was a Buick-badged Opel that only saw very few buyers in the US. Same thing with their last wagon sold here, the Regal Tour-X. Another Opel with a Buick badge. And yet, the new Electra LT shows a future wagon for the Buick brand.
So why not a convertible? There might be hope…
