2026 Alfa-Romeo

Last Updated:

This illustration shows what a redesigned next-generation Alfa-Romeo Giulia sedan could look like.

The next Guilia is rumored to be based on the Stellantis STLA platform and will be an EV. With the possibility of ICE engine choices if needed. Just like the 2025 Dodge Charger.

Both the Alfa-Romeo Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV are scheduled to be replaced starting next year. The first one will be the Stelvio in 2025, with the Giulia following in 2026. At least a few months ago, the plan was still to have Alfa-Romeo be an EV-only brand by 2027. A larger SUV was also planned, mostly for the North American market.

However, more recent rumors are talking about an Alfa-Romeo departure from the North American market. With sales numbers worse than ever. Only 3461 Guilias were sold in the US last year. With 5338 units, the Stelvio didn’t do that much better. And of course, the smaller and cheaper Tonale is far from being a hit. Mostly because you can buy the exact same model as a much cheaper Dodge. (What were they thinking?)

With a new Stelvio about a year away, Stellantis could decide it is too long to wait for Alfa-Romeo to turn around. Which would be too bad. Since the brand is on the verge of releasing a few brand new models we might be missing out.

I guess there’s not much you can do if North American consumers don’t want to buy Alfas…

  1. Vince, I’m curious whether you have driven any of the Alfas? Just wondering if the “Alfa’s are the best driving cars” comments applies to the regular models or whether people are reacting to the high performance Quadrifolio’s trims.
