Future Chrysler video.

Last Updated:

Here is a new video of illustrations showing what future Chrysler models could look like.

These show a world where the Chrysler brand still offers more than an old minivan. A world where names like “New Yorker”, “Imperial“, “Le Baron” or “Cordoba” conjure visions of classic American cars.

Big and chrome might not be the best way to revive Chrysler, but it couldn’t be worse than what we have now. After the death of the Chrysler 300, the only model they offer is the good old Pacifica minivan. It came out back in 2017 and still looks quite good for being so old.

Still, a brand that only offers a minivan at a time when people mostly buy SUVs is not the best way to stick around. Chrysler needs more models. Anything.

A new model is still due next year apparently. They showed us the great-looking Hacyion concept a while ago but I doubt this is a preview of an actual production sedan since the whole thing is just way too futuristic. Unlike the Dodge Charger EV, Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S concepts. Which ended up looking exactly like their production counterparts.

The new Chrysler will be an SUV, based on the Jeep Wagoner S EV SUV. Which is actually not a bad idea. An SUV has always been a good way to revive a brand these days. But how about some really nice sedans or even a coupe…

  1. I’m sorry, but here’s another sedan illustration where where a sedan has sports car proportions: low, pointed front end with a long hood = big outside, small inside; low roof line = poor no head room and a low seating position. While these are nice to look at, lets try normalizing sedans that actually can be used by people that need the space in a four door sedan. Not everyone wants SUVs, but there has to be a better option than this redundant form in the industry as the only option. The Acura TLX is a perfect real world example of what goes wrong in sedan design today. Long hood, no room inside, very low. That’s fine for a sport sedan, but then… people aren’t buying it versus a BMW, which has a smaller foot print yet more room. Hmm… it can’t be THAT hard to figure out whats going on here. Yes, people like sporty. But they’re also not wanting an oversized barge they can’t get out of without a contortion or that can’t fit passengers in the rear for a 6hr ride to grandma’s house. Its not rocketscience. (End rant)
