Chrysler Cordoba.

New Chryslers are coming. At least that’s what Stellantis has been saying for a while now.

It’s different from the old Margionne dark days when he was deliberately starving the brand of anything new. At least we now know there is a new SUV/Crossover model coming in 2025. Which will share its platform with the new Jeep Wagoneer S. And an EV Minivan. However, that will not be available for a few years.

But what would really be nice, and probably not a money maker, is a new large coupe. Which wouldn’t be that insanely difficult to engineer since it would obviously be based on the new 2025 Dodge Charger. A new Chrysler Cordoba coupe that doesn’t need to have 670HP.

The new 2025 Dodge Charger is actually the comeback of the big American coupe. Like we had in the 1970s. it is not only longer than the Challenger it replaces, but it is about the size of a Mercedes S-Class! At over 206 inches long, it is about the same size as the 1968 model.

A new Chrysler coupe could of course be called a “Cordoba“. Which would be both fun and kind of weird. While the original 1st generation Cordoba from the late 1970s was longer than the new Charger at 215 inches, the shorter 2nd generation was pretty close. At around 2010 inches.

A big luxurious 2 door Chrysler could be around the corner if they wanted to. Of course, there isn’t much of a market these days for a car like this. We’ll have to see how the new 2025 Charger does. I think once the controversy about the lack of V8 dies down, it could be a pretty popular EV. Especially when more affordable and less powerful RWD versions become available. As well as the 4-door sedan. As this is an extremely stylish and also practical car with its giant rear hatch.

Something that could be a much more stylish alternative to SUVs we see everywhere. A more luxurious Chrysler version could pick up a few customers who want something fancier. Something almost no one else offers these days.

Why not…

1st generation Chrysler Cordoba.
2nd generation Chrysler Cordoba.
