2026 VW Atlas.
Last Updated:

The VW Atlas SUV is scheduled for a brand-new design for the 2026 model year, and here it is.
Yes, we’ve seen it before, a few months ago. Since the Atlas is the same car as the Chinese VW Teramount. The new Teramont is shown in the second photo. The car caught more recently seems to be another version. With some exterior trims still covered in that white plastic, they use for delivery.
And it has a different bumper design than the one we see in that 2nd photo. And I must say, this is a ghastly one. These super fake-looking side air vents are unbearable. This is similar to what VW is already doing with the new 2025 Tiguan. I saw the Tiguan in person and the massive plastic crap up front ruins the whole thing.
Inside, the new Atlas/Teramont looks a lot like any other new VW these days. And a lot like a larger version of the new Tiguan. With the exact same tablet screen, they put in everything.
While the current Atlas is already pretty big, the new one is even larger at about 4 inches longer. There is no rumor about anything new for the powertrain. Which is currently a 2.0 Liter turbo with 269HP. This is not added these days since both GM and Hyundai/Kia are switching to 2.0 Liter Turbo 4 cylinder engines for their new 3-row SUVs. Which is a shame since the MPG gain is usually very small.
Again, we must applaud Honda/Accura for keeping their super smooth and luxurious 3.5 Liter V6 engine in their current lineup.
I drove a VW Atlas rental a couple years back. It was a huge piece of cheap plastic caca. New design, but the smell remains.
Wow. This is just wrong
Wow, this is just so wrong and I am completely disappointed. I really like the 2023 look and most of the interior. wouldn’t mind maybe trying the new refreshed one from 2024 but I hear nothing but horrible reviews about that one and only engine you can get, which is a turbo four. I just want a V6, so I guess I’ll have to go with a 2022 or 2023
Its a turbo 4 cyl. Why is the front so massive when the engine doesn’t need all that room? Just big to be big. Typical VW. No substance.
