2025 Tata Sierra.

Last Updated:

Tata is getting ready to launch a new generation of their classic Sierra SUV.

The 1st generation was launched in 1991. It was replaced by a slightly more modern-looking second generation in 1997. Which means the current model still looks positively ancient.

For 2025, Tata will be replacing the Sierra with an all-new 4-door model, which will be available as an EV (silver car) or with a good old ICE (yellow car). Apparently, the EV version will come out about a month before the gas model.

Even though Tata is a huge brand in its home market of India, over here and in Europe it is mostly known for being the owner of Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover.

The super modern look and proportions of this new Sierra really remind me of what a modern small Land Rover model could look like. Not a defender of course but the Discovery Sport. At 170 inches long, the new Tata Sierra is just about 11 inches shorter than the current Discovery Sport. The newer Tata is probably more space-efficient and could end up being as roomy as the Land Rover.

The current Discovery Sport is based on a platform also used by Tata for their larger Harrier and Safari models.

I think Tata needs all the help they can get to turn things around with Jaguar “land Rover and using this new, almost futuristic new 2025 Sierra as a base for a new small Land Rover wouldn’t be that bad. The profile and rear end could already pass for a Land Rover without much changes.

And the fact that it is engineered for electric and gas is a bonus these days.

I say why not?

  1. “Ford 2025, Tata will be replacing the Sierra with an all-new 4-door model.” “Toyota got almost 15,000 units of the unstoppable RAV4 registered in the country last year.” Vince, I think it’s time you start going carefully through your text before posting. Errors and confusing statements are coming up in nearly every article.
