2026 Kia EV4.

Kia just unveiled the all-new EV4 EV sedan in Spain today. Here is what we know.
The US will be getting the sedan, but probably not the hatchback version, at least not at first. The sedan is coming over here next year, not in 2025.
The hatchback is mostly targeted for the European market and will be only built in Slovakia. While, the sedan will be built in Korea.
The Kia EV4 will be a FWD model only with a 150kW motor. It will be available with a 58.3 kWh battery or a larger 81.2 kWh unit. With a range of up to 630km in the WLTP cycle. That could mean about a 320-mile range in the EPA test cycle.
Of course, there is no pricing yet. But it is expected to start at a bit over $35,000. Which would be slightly above the EV3, whenever it comes over here. Unfortunately, US EV incentives might not be available by the time it comes out. However, I am sure Kia will find a way to discount lease payments. Currently, you can lease a $39,000 Hyundai Ioniq 6 sedan for just $169 a month. The new Kia EV4 could be even cheaper.
The new Kia EV would then compete against cars like a Honda Civic. Which is currently $259 a month for the cheapest Sprt hatchback model. I personally think the EV4 sedan could have quite a limited appeal due to its design. I am sure it is a very nice car, with a great interior. But that exterior design could be best described as “not for everyone”.
While I do appreciate original car designs, this just looks a bit heavy and almost unpleasant. I think the hatchback looks so much better. With such a more usual[ble cargo area than that very narrow trunk opening found on the sedan…
