Next generation Acura Legend.
Last Updated:

The illustration above shows what a new Acura Legend EV could look like. One that would be closely related to the upcoming Honda Sedan, based on the new “0” platform. Just like the new Honda EV SUV and Acura RSX. And just like the RDX and Integra, Acura should dig back up the good old “LEgend” name for the new sedan.
Last year a few patent designs for a new Acura sedan we found on the internet and ended up basically everywhere. Acura explained these were a few years old and were showing an internal concept car that was never released.
The current TLX is an excellent car but has never been a hit. Far from it. Sales are taking a nose dive with just 16700 sold sold in 2023 and fewer than 6500 last year.
The prototype for the 0 Saloon EV sedan Honda showed at CES a few months ago is still pretty wild. And there is no way to know how much it will be changed for production. It seems way too futuristic to be ready for mass production. So far, the RSX prototype we just saw is pretty different from the Concept we saw before. The proportions alone are completely changed and the design looks much more conventional. Which is not at all the case with the upcoming production version of the Honda 0 SUV. Which looks almost 100% the same as the CES concept.
With so few sales of the current TLX, it seems Acura has nothing to lose by producing a new Legend sedan based on the Honda 0 Series Saloon.
And at least, the Legend could stay what it is supposed to be: a sedan.
Unlike the RSX…
If Honda is smart, they won’t just make any new EV sedan but also a Sport Hybrid w/ SH-AWD. And the sport-hybrid should debut first so they dont have the same problem as the TLX intro… didn’t look like the concept, wasn’t very sporty, waited almost two years for the TypeS. Then never really recovered.
In general, Acura should bring back the names: Legend, Vigor. That’s what the RSX should have become… the Vigor. Just make an engine an option.
This spelling the brand out on the tail is getting over done. Keep the A-calipers symbol front and rear (just make them smaller). Spell ACURA on the side of the trunk or below in the center – like they used to.
Yep . Bring the badges of honor back
I agree hell the new acura legend coupe omg gas or hybrid solid back end with strong black chrome or full nice powerful tips a must.
Keep the rear as it is I like the rear tailgate but put the Acura symbol up front so people see it coming out. Still have to turn around to find out what type of accura it is😎
Why can’t Acura lean form its mistakes…
The TLX was always trying to fill two pairs of shoes, the TSX and the TL. The TSX was a replacement for the Integra 5-door. Now that the Integra is back, the TLX should become the Legend and reclaim its executive sedan status.
Have to agree the name plates of Legend and Vigor were exceptional quality and design. Ev only would kill tge name plate. Have to have gas engine in the lineup. The Vigor was fast and smooth.
Vigor was crap
The current TLX is as bloated as the RLX became (the former Legend). Except the RLX was bland, where the TLX is just tacky.
Looks like a jaguar not good at all
Ugly AF
Looks like the new Cadillac Celestiq.
RL and ZDX will always be my favorite models. This rendering looks like the new electric Jaguar
Fugly
DOA
TLX sales are down because they aren’t being produced. Go try to find one on a dealership – it took me over a year to get my hands on a Type S.
I love my TLX it took me searching months before I found one. They aren’t being produced, so finding one takes effort. I always loved the Legend and hopefully they’ll bring it back.
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO LOOK AT! Whoever is designing cars for Acura was last in their class. Hideous vehicle!
The Legend’s back is too heavy-like the Cadillac CTS coupe or mid 70s Mustang. Too dramatic. At least it does not have the stupid creases on the side (TLX and HR-V) Miss my 94 Legend & 04 TL
Editorial: The Glory Days Are Gone — Bring Back the Names That Mattered
There was a time when the word Legend meant something — not just in the showroom, but on the open road. The Integra? A lean, lithe machine that could dance on a dime and leave the Germans scratching their heads. And the Vigor? It had charm, grit, and an engine note that sang the song of engineering intent.
But somewhere along the way, Acura — or should we say Honda in a dinner jacket — lost the plot.
Today’s badge soup of TLXes, RDXes, and numeric-alphabet stew reads more like a parts catalog than a lineup of driver’s cars. The nomenclature? A marketing department’s fever dream. Who are we trying to fool? Everyone knows what Acura is — a Honda with illusions of grandeur.
Worse still, there’s the elephant in the garage: Honda has never given its luxury arm a proper rear-wheel-drive platform. Not once. Not even a token offering for the faithful. Every other marque worth its salt — BMW, Mercedes, Lexus — knows the road to driving nirvana starts at the rear wheels. Meanwhile, Acura insists on dressing up a front-drive platform and hoping no one notices the understeer.
The solution is simpler than a pushrod V8: stop pretending.
Build a proper Honda with leather, sound-deadening, and just enough chrome to justify a $3,000 bump. Skip the all-wheel-drive gimmickry, stop chasing BMW’s tailpipes, and for heaven’s sake — give us names we remember. Names with soul. Names with bite. Legend. Integra. Vigor.
Because here’s the truth, folks: Real enthusiasts don’t care if the badge says TLX 2.0T SH-AWD A-Spec. They care if the car matters. And right now, it doesn’t.
