Hyundai Ioniq 7.

Hyundai is already offering the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9 in the US.
The Ioniq 9 was originally supposed to be called “Ioniq 7”. Which means Hyundai is getting a few more Ioniq models ready above the 6 sedan, and needed more room for names. There is now room for future Ioniq 7 and Ioniq 8 models.
We already know the next Ioniq model will be the compact Ioniq 3, which will be previewed by a very interesting concept in just a few days. It will, of course, be a smaller crossover vehicle. But how about a fancier 2-door coupe? One that would compete against the upcoming Honda Prelude Hybrid and the future Toyota Celsia.
It could use a few retro design cues from the old Hyundai Tiburon. Or even the Genesis Coupe. However, it would obviously be visually linked to current Ioniq models.
There have been no rumors of Hyundai working on a 2-door, 4-seater EV hatchback. Maybe they’re waiting to see how the 2026 Prelude will do. I am not sure the new Honda will do well with its very derivative design and very familiar Civic interior. The Celica could turn out to be more original. However, it could also be transformed into a rather expensive sports car. This is contrary to the mission of the previous generations.
Still, a new 4-seater EV coupe could be quite nice. And easily outperform the new Prelude.
