2026 Honda Accord.

Last Updated:

The Honda Accord sedan has been slightly revised for the Chinese market. It seems the changes are pretty modest. Just like what we just saw a few months ago on the Honda Civic.

The redesigned front end seems a bit more “interesting”. However, not really better. It’s just a bit different. The current version actually looks much cleaner.

It’s harder to see anything new as far as the rear of the car is concerned. And there is probably nothing new inside, just like in the 2025 Honda Civic. Except for maybe some decontenting here and there. Again, just like the 2025 Civic.

The current Accord generation has not been as popular as the (nicer-looking) previous version. And that could be a big problem. So far, sales went from a decent 198,000 in 2023 to under 163,000 last year. And under 97,000 so far this year. Concerning indeed. And something like this could make Honda reconsider a future generation.

In 2 to 3 years, Honda could just decide the Civic is all the sedan they need in North America. That and the new 0 Series EV sedan that is coming out next year. A new, clumsy-looking front end will probably not do much to turn things around.

Another one might bite the dust.

  1. This current generation is the most boring Accord in years. People still want sedans, not just bland boring ones. Honda is capable of making good looking sedans…particularly the EV ones that are in China. Those are the sexiest sedans I’ve seen in a while. Idon’t understand why they choose to bring this boring design to the states

  2. Wow. Wrong direction, Honda. I don’t like the current Accord, but it should remain clean lined, and not reset back 10 yrs styling-wise. Clean up the mess of lines in the rear tail lights. Add some visual interest in the front by adding actual fog lights and a body colored lip just above the front spoiler. Then, go inside and update some of the materials – the current Accord was an interior downgrade from the prior gen. There’s no longer price pressure from the Acura TLX – let the materials move up a bit and add more sound insulation. Maybe make the Sport’s suspension tuning a bit more aggressive so it doesn’t feel like a boat.

  3. Aside from styling design that is hideous compared to the 10th generation they also must focus on drivetrain. People were disappointed with the 1.5 turbo and they decide to stop making the 2.0 Turbo that everyone wanted. Yet continue with the anemic 1,5 turbo and keep pushing hybrid. No one likes those cvt transmissions either btw.

  4. Right now, the only vehicle in Honda’s current lineup that is even remotely interesting is the new Passport. All the rest of the brand’s vehicles are hopelessly bland and boring. The previous generation Civic, Accord, and CR-V were all much more dynamic and attractive that their current versions.

  5. Go all hybrid or replace the 1.5t with the 2.0t w/10AT from the RDX/TLX as an performance upgrade.
