2019 Opel Mokka X/2020 Buick Encore
Last Updated:
While this is just an illustration, it does match the pictures we have seen of prototypes for the redesigned model.
The Mokka X is supposed to be released in Europe next year. A few months before the Buick version in the US.
While a new Encore makes sense, I am not sure I see the point of a new Opel Mokka.
Opel now has the new Peugeot based Crossland X which is basically the same size.
The new Mokka seems to be based off the same GM platform as the old one. While Peugeot has mentioned that all new Opels would be based off Peugeot platforms (The even delayed the new Corsa to make sure it fits a Peugeot platform)
Maybe there will only be a Buick version of the next one? (For the US and China) Since Peugeot has a deal to provide GM with a few models past 2019…
Who knows…

Wow the proportions on that render are AWFUL. The headlights/grille are so off of center, unless they expect the production version to have a headlight that's higher on the left than it is on the right.
Looks identical to that Bolt based CUV-EV concept.
Gm needs to get their designs organized. They are using that rear window treatment on the Bolt, the Terrain, and n ow the Encore?? How can 3 different brands use the same style cues?
It seems that it will be based on the same PSA platform than the Grandland X, with a size between the Crossland X and the Grandland X, near to the Qashqai/Rogue Sport size.
Doug F, great point. What in the world is going on here GM? This is worse than badge engineering as these are 3 completely different vehicles with the same design in 3 different brands. Will the XT3/4 have a fluidic floating roof too?
