2011/12 Hyundai Accent hatchback

Hyundai is already testing a hatchback version of its recently introduced all new Verna. Which is known to us as the Accent.
No surprises here, there always has been a hatch version of the small Hyundai.
This will compete very nicely with cars like the Toyota Yaris over here.
But with more style.
It looks a little odd in the back. Hyundai should have stolen the Venga from Kia and rebadged it as the Accent Hatchback.
a sales manager for a large dealership told me that Korean cars are known as "throwaway" cars in the business…what you save up front, you end up paying for in the end.
Interesting, so we are getting a 4 door this time (more like the Accent^5 that the US never got). So the Veloster will be the 2 door varient?
I'm sure this new accent will do well! Before my wife bought her current generation Accent hatchback, we test drove the Yaris, Fit and Versa and here's what I've got to say.
Fit:
Drove the best with very firm handling (similar to my old Civic SiR) however, the interior was terribly cheap feeling and subjectively weird. There was also no sunroof available which sucked.
Yaris:
Drove like an early 90s Ford Taurus. The ride was too soft which also resulted in poor handling. The interior was subpar for it's price. It also seemed to have the most road noise of the bunch and again, no sunroof option.
Nissan Versa:
Crap: Felt like a recycled, unattractive Renault.
Accent:
Was a perfect balance of the Yaris and Fit. It had 95% the handling of the Fit and 5% the cushion of the Yaris with the best fit and finish interior. The price was a little lower than the rest but for an extra $1000 we got a power sunroof, 17" allows, upgraded 6 speaker stereo and foglights. Some of which are just not available in Toyonda offerings.

Let me guess, he was trying to sell you a Japanese or American vehicle. Key words was that a sales manager "once" told you. Koreans are on par, or better than most other manufacturers now.

Interesting.. I was thinking the same thing, the Accent hatch has always been a 3-door, but if the Veloster is taking over that slot, why not bring a 5-door Accent? Wonder if Kia will get a 3-door Rio?
