Hyundai Galloper.
Last Updated:
I have to admit, I had never heard about the “Hyundai Galloper” before I saw these two photos on top (sent to me by a reader).
It turns out the Galloper was basically an old SUV produced by Hyundai starting back in 1991. Which is when Hyundai was still producing many cars and trucks based on older Mitsubishi models. The early Galloper was basically a revised Mitsubishi Pajero.
A second generation came out in 1997 and was produced until 2004.
These new photos seem to show a brand new 3rd generation Galloper. And they look quite real to me. Maybe it’s just an old thing I’ve never seen before. Although the design seems to be inspired by the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, which would make sense.
A more off-road-oriented new SUV could turn out to be quite popular too. Competing with the Ford Bronco, Jeep Wrangler, and others. Mitsubishi itself is coming out with a new generation, probably around 2026. And Toyota will soon have a new “Compact Cruiser” or whatever they decide to call it…
The second photo above also shows a really nice interior design as well. And something that seems just ready to go. Hyundai also has a variety of powertrains they could use on the new SUV. ICE, Hybrid, PHEV, or even EV. They already offer all these in many different models. All this while Ford still doesn’t offer any kind of electrification on the Bronco.
Let’s hope these photos show are real and show what’s coming soon. Hyundai is always working on so many new models at the same time this could adjust be another one.
We are expecting a new 2nd generation Hyundai Palisade any day now. A next-generation Nexo Hydrogen-powered SUV. A new Ioniq 9 EV SUV. And who knows what else. That’s not even mentioning upcoming Kia models…
