Chrysler Sedan.

With Chrysler‘s future uncertain once again, let’s imagine a new sedan for the good old brand.
We all know Stelantis canceled a Chrysler crossover project based on the 2022 Airflow concept. That concept was supposed to be a preview of a new 2024 or 2025 Chrysler EV.
While there was really nothing wrong with its design, it just didn’t look super modern. Especially next to the Kia EV6 or Hyundai Ioniq 5 that had just come out at that time. By now it would just look OK…
We heard the production version of the Airflow concept was canceled back in May 2023.
More recently, Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell mentioned a brand new SUV with styling inspired but the more recent Halcyon futuristic concept was on its way later this year. Followed by a refreshed Pacifica. With an all-new Pacifica EV flowing about a year later. And maybe a sedan or even a coupe version of the Halcyon. Which was all good news.
Now we hear the upcoming SUV might be canceled as well. Something I don’t believe to be true. That idea comes from an internal memo sent by Chrysler to their suppliers. Mentioning that “The C6X program has been put on hold until further notice”. It seems to me they are still talking about the Airfow which was canceled in 2023. Maybe it wasn’t 100% canceled and a small team was still working on it. Who knows…
It would be really, really strange to have the Chrysler CEO mention an upcoming model and cancel it just a few days later. It would also seem that the new Chrysler SUV would be almost ready to go if it was scheduled to appear this year.
While all this doesn’t make any sense, let’s look at what a possible new Chrysler sedan could look like. I know Christine Feuell mentioned their future model being inspired by the Halcyon, but what if there were not? What if a new sedan looked a bit more retro than the futuristic Halcyon? Something with more curves. Maybe a new Le Baron? Or an Airflow?
Let’s really hope Stellantis clarifies this memo soon and that we will indeed see a new Chrysler soon.
