2026 Tesla Model X.

Last Updated:

The Tesla Model X is one of the oldest models on sale today, and we might see something new soon.

The news comes directly from Tesla, through its VP of engineering, Lars Moravy. This is what he mentioned during a podcast:

“The upgrade a few years ago was bigger than most people thought in terms of architecture and structure. We’ll give it some love later this year. Everyone has a little place in their heart for the S and X. They are not going anywhere anytime soon. “

While not as old as the Model S, the Model X still came out 10 years ago. “Some Love” is pretty vague and could mean anything. A brand-new design is not expected but who knows?

This could just be yet another refresh, with of course light bars! Since it seems every new Tesla has to have them these days. The refreshed Model 3 could end up being the only Tesla without them.

The Model X price keeps changing, and it is currently at $85,000. However, Tesla is desperate to boost sales these days and it now come, again, with free supercharging. Just like in the early days of Tesla. However, with a terrible lease deal ($1150 a month), they don’t seem that desperate…

This currently puts the Model X against the base trim of the all-new Lucid Gravity. Although the Gravity is currently higher with a cheaper $78,000 version coming in a few months.

Sales are lower than they used to be with a 20% decline last year.

An upgrade would surely put the good old Model X back in the news. And probably boost sales numbers a bit. Unless more and more potential buyers keep being turned off by crazy Elon Musk radical political views of the world.

That’s a problem a revised or even a brand new Model X could never solve…
