Next Nissan Rogue???
Last Updated:
This was sent to me from Europe.
Showing the next Nissan X-trail, which is basically the same car as the Rogue sold in the US.
I think this is still just an illustration, but who knows…
The current generation is about 6 years old now, and I am sure an all-new one is not far.
The Rogue has been extremely popular for Nissan. (They sold over 412 000 of them last year!)
So I guess they are not in a hurry to have a new one out.
And I am sure the design will stay pretty close to the current model.
What it does need is a smoother and quieter engine.
That's a terrible rendering. It's basically identical with a few sharper creases and a floating roof. No way is that accurate.
You always say that. It's not from "Europe". Japanese rendering, which is inaccurate.
Definitely not the P33A Rogue, due next year either.
the Nissan Rogue really needs a new engine option other then the 2.5L 4 cylinder of 170 HP. I have a 2006 nissan Xtrail with a 2.5L rated at 165 HP mated to a 4 speed auto/overdrive transmission ( this vehicle was sold here in canada but not in the USA). It's actually decent engine/transmission combo as my Xtrail is not very heavy and the transmission is geared nicely. I recently drove a customer's 2017 Nissan Rogue on the freeway and what a dog that vehicle is with basically the same motor i have in my 06 Xtrail. What nissan needs is to drop the new 2.5 turbo four from the altima as the optional upgraded engine AND upgrade the existing base engine to 190 hp with better low end torque (for those that just want bit more grunt but more concerned with good fuel economy).
The Altima has a 2.0 Turbo, not a 2.5. Plus, your 2006 X-Trail had a conventional transmission while the Rogue has a CVT. I agree that the Rogue needs a smoother, more refined and stronger powertrain. The Altima 2.0 Turbo (same engine is in the Infiniti QX50) would definitely do the trick.
Actually, the news is from Europe for real
