It will be available as an old-fashioned gas model with a 2.5 Liter Turbo engine and an 8 speed automatic, good for 277HP. This version will go on sale next March while a Hybrid model using a 1.6 Liter engine and a 6 speed Auto with 232 HP will be available next spring.
The new generation is a radical departure from the generic previous generation, and I think it’s a good thing. The design is impressive and it does stand out in a sea of ultra-generic SUVs out there.
The 2 models on the show floor had a black interior, which IMO, doesn’t look nearly as good as the light interiors I’ve seen online, which include a very nice light matte wood trim. The “rose gold/black wheels” combo wasn’t my favorite either.
At 190 inches long, the new Santa Fe isn’t small, but it is still 7 inches shorter than a Toyota Highlander, and just 5 inches longer than a Honda CR-V.
No info about pricing yet but the recurrent generation starts at under $29,000.
It’s way too busy. Reminds me of an old Mitsubishi Montero.
