The all-new Porsche Macan EV is officially out, and we now have some of the specs:
. Macan 4with 402HP. Macan Turbo with 630HP.
. 100 kWh battery with up to 95 kWh used. CD charging at up to 270 kW.
. Air suspension and electronic sampling control standards on both models.
. Macan 4 at $ 78,800. Macan Turbo at $105,300. It can be ordered now with deliveries in the second half of the year.
Yes, it is more than the current base price of $ 61,000 for the Macan in the US. But that is for a base 261HP Macan. The new one has 402HP to start. While the sportier-looking Macan T, still with 261HPP starts at over $ 10,000 more. The huge jump in performance alone could justify the new price for the EV version. And let’s not forget, the new Macan EV is a Porsche, which is not supposed to be affordable.
And just remember, at $ 78,800, the new Macan 4 is just $1000 (!) more than the lumpy-looking Mercedes EQE SUV. For that price, the Mercedes has only one motor and 288HP. It is always quite amazing to see how expensive and behind these Mercedes EVs are.
As predicted, some competition could also come from the new Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. While the larger 3 starts at $ 84,000, it is about 4 inches longer than the new Macan EV. The Polestar 3 is rumored to be much cheaper at around $ 60,000, but just a couple of inches shorter than the Porsche. Both are very good-looking SUVs inside and out but have none of the cachet of a Porsche.
