2025 Genesis GV60.

It seems Genesis is getting ready to clean up the virtual mess that is the Genesis GV60. At around the same time its platform cousins, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 are getting similar changes.
The Genesis EV was introduced in late 2021 and started sales in the US in the 2023 model year. A refresh for the 2025 model year is a pretty quick turnaround. The new front end is good news. As it already looks much cleaner than the current design. And especially, isn’t trying to include a version of the stupid Genesis grille, used in their ICE models. That huge Superman-like metal grille ruins every design they put it on. (Even Lexus is giving up on their huge grilles).
Unlike the revised GV80 I saw at the Auto Show (and all future Genesis facelifts coming up) the GV60‘s interior will not be ruined by adding a widescreen since it already has one. However, there is still lots of room for improvement, especially by trying to simplify the super busy interior. The GV60’s cabin has so many clashing shapes and materials it induces headaches and possibly mild dizziness.
I think the small revisions are a step in the right direction. Let’s hope this is a sign of simpler front ends on other future models as well. Although their next all-new model will be the big 3-row Genesis GV90 EV. I am sure on a car that huge and expensive they will be really tempted to design a giant useless grille.
Let’s hope not…
The limited range it was killed a lot of its sales.
