Honda Ye Series concepts.
Last Updated:
Honda just unveiled a few “concepts’ that are actually close to production previews of new EVs for the Chinese market. Both the P7 and S7 are scheduled for the end of this year. While the GT is coming out before the end of 2025.
Honda has already introduced the e:NS1 and e:NP1 in China in 2022 and is planning to introduced 10 EV models in that market by the end of 2027. And selling only EVs in China by 2025.
The new P7 and S7 are based on a new dedicated EV platform. Available with one or two motors. Like most EVs around the world these days.
One thing I noticed is how sleek the shape of the GT sedan is. This reminded me a little bit of the 0 Series Saloon concept we saw in the US a few months ago. Honda claims the Saloon will become a production car by 2026 and will be sold in North America. I just wonder if this new “Ye GT” concept is a more realistic preview of the production model we will be seeing in a couple of years over here.
I mean, how many different EV designs can they come up with before it just becomes too expensive? My guess is most of the new GT concept will probably end up in the future 0 Series saloon sold in North America. Or at least the platform and powertrains.
These 3 concepts basically look like they should all be next-generation Honda models in the US. The GT would be a great next-generation Accord. The P7 and S7, even if not really futuristic, already look much more modern than the current CR-V. However, I’m not sure Honda is ready to switch to EVs for their most popular models that early.
Although the new Prologue isn’t inexpensive, it will be very interesting to see how popular it becomes with Honda buyers. I don’t think the GM connection will matter much since most car buyers have no idea what’s under the hood or where the car is built. Honda designers also did a really good job making the Prologue look like a Honda.
The Prologue also qualifies for incentives and will be compatible very soon with all the Tesla charges in the country. Which will be a huge help.
In the first picture, the left two look like Kia’s and the one on the right looks like a Toyota (with the Prius front end).
The new Honda Prius sedan and crossovers!
geez. Honda should be ashamed of these designs.
Wow! If disappointment were a car, it would be this Ye series.
Honda is no longer working with GM
These Ye concepts, even the GT, are incredibly boring and prosaic. Honda (like many other manufacturers) show no signs of wanting to stylistically usher in a new age of new propulsion for a new century. Egads, Stellantis is trying to make their new Dodge EVs look and sound like half a century old muscle cars. So sad!

if this were a Honda coming to the US, what i’d like to see would be the rear taillights looking like a modern interpretation of the Crosstour’s taillights. Enough of the full width light bars. And the front – just remove the descending light that goes towards the wheel. It would be a decent looking car then and much more sporty.
Tired of Honda’s staples style taillights!!!!
