The Polestar 2 EV came out in 2020 already. After 4 years, Polestar is already at work on its replacement, which will be called the Polestar 7.
The Polestar 5 will be a large sedan based on the 2020 Precept Concept. And it is right around the corner. While the Polestar 6 will be the reproduction version of the 2022 02 Concept.
The Polestar 2 was actually based on the Volvo Concept 40.2 and was supposed to be Volvo’s replacement for the S40 compact sedan. Right when they decided to create the Polestar brand…
The future Polestar 7 will replace the Polestar 2 as the brand’s smallest and cheapest model in 2027. The Polestar 2 has been quite popular with over 150,000 sold worldwide, and the future Polestar 7 will be even more so, since by the time it comes out, EVs will have an even larger market share around the world.
So far Polestar is saying the design will be all-new and not a modernized version of the recurrent model, unlike the VW Golf and others which seem to be on repeat every 6 years or so.
So far, the Polestar brand has been coming up with really good and interesting designs. I’m sure the Polestar 7 will be quite stimulating…
Seems to me this Polestar model designation scheme is already way too confusing. Doesn’t correlate at all to a natural order of size.
