2025 GMC Terrain.

It seems like the new 2025 GMC Terrain will be a clone of the redesigned 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, more than ever before.
The top photo shows how close the new Terrain will be to the recently introduced 2025 Equinox. Of course, the front and rear ends will be different, with GMC still squeezing as much chrome as they can. But the profile of the 2 vehicles seems to be exactly the same.
Until you notice the C-pillar seems to be just a little different for some odd reason. The roof doesn’t have that little notch above the C-pillar either. This is odd and seems like a waste of money since to 99% of us, these will look exactly the same.
As you can see in the other photos, the previous generations looked very different from each other. Now the Equinox and the Terrain seem to have the same angular offroad personality. Except, I guess, the terrain will give some joy to those who like more plastic chrome all over their SUVs. And a vertical screen inside, for some reason.
At over 212,000 sold last year, the current Equinox is still very popular. While the Terrain sold a bit over 71,000 units in 2023. Making it look almost exactly the same as the Equinox might not be the best idea to boost sales. However, that’s what GM has done for decades with the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon.
Why not I guess…
I gotta disagree here. Look at the sheet metal cut lines. The rear quarter panel on the new Terrain ends quite high up, at roughly the 10 o’clock position, while the cut line on the Equinox is considerably lower. That means those pieces are not the same. And neither can the rear bumpers can be. The front cut lines are even more different. See how the hood looks lower and swooping on the Equinox versus the Terrain. The only share sheet metal seems to be the doors. And especially with the 2 tone option with a different roof color,I think both vehicles have their own unique style.
