2025 Chevrolet Equinox PHEV.

These are photos of the new Chevrolet Equinox Plus, for the Chinese market.
The Equinox Plus is the PHEV version of the all-new redesigned 2025 Chevrolet Equinox we saw a while ago. At least in China, the PHEV powertrain will be available on the RS and Activ versions, not the base model.
GM has recently mentioned that new PHEV models are on their way to the North American market. It seems like perfect timing for an Equinox PHEV in the US and Canada.
In the US, the Equinox will use a slightly updated version of its current 1.5 Liter Turbo engine with a CVT for FWD versions or an 8 speed Auto if you order AWD. Models offered in the US will be LT, RS, and Activ.
I think offering a PHEV option for the RS and Activ versions in the US would be great. This hasn’t been confirmed yet or even mentioned back in January when GM introduced the new Equinox. But really, a PHEV Equinox would compete with other PHEV models here like the Toyota RAV-4 Prime, Hyundai Tucson PHEV, Kia Sportage PHEV, and even the (almost forgotten) Ford Escape PHEV.
As far as a released date, GM only mentioned the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox being available “in 2024”. They’ve been having weird problems lately with producing new cars like the revised 2024 Buick Envision and the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. So who knows when the 2025 Equinox will really be available?
PHEV or not…
December 31st, 2024…..only to be recalled January 1st, 2025
I was going to say GM should jump on that right away! oh… right. On second thought.
