2026 VW Atlas.

Last Updated:

These illustrations kind of match the recent spy photos we’ve seen of the second-generation VW Atlas.

Although a revised Atlas has only been out for a few months, the new generation is rumored for late next year as a 2026 model. The profile of the illustrations mostly matches the spy shots but not the front end.

That new front end was completely camouflaged in recent spy shots and the illustrations show something resembling the horrible 2022 VW Jetta. Something that is completely different in the revised 2025 Jetta. I believe the new Atlas front end will probably look much better than what we see here. Same thing for the rear lights. Even the lower profile of the prototypes was pretty covered up. Hop[efully hiding a more modern shape.

The current Atlas came out back in 2017, and, in my humble yet very important opinion, always looked old. Last year’s revision did help, but they really need something better.

However, it’s not as if the competition was putting out great-looking designs. With uninspired work like the Toyota Grand Highlander or the new Buick Enclave, VW shouldn’t have much trouble coming up with something better-looking.

If they really want to…

  1. I prefer the original front end. It was more masculine and rugged. This just looks too plain and flat. I’d rather buy one of the older Atlas’ that have the chain like grill and chain like daytime lights, if only it had a digital cockpit.
