2025 Infiniti QX60.
Last Updated:
Infiniti just unveiled the 2025 version of their QX60 SUV.
Which is no big news in itself. The main change seems to be the addition of a new “Black edition” package. It seems everyone has one of these these days. They usually include black wheels and chrome delete all around. And of course a black interior.
The big news is a sad one. It is the death of their smooth 3.5 Liter V6, being replaced by, you guessed it, a 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder Turbo engine. It is the same engine they have been using on the smaller QX50 and QX55 for a few years. That engine has been described as “lacking finesse”, “unrefined”, “loud”, “and “lackluster” among other things. I’ve actually never seen a good review of it over the years.
At least, the revised QX60 includes a 9-speed auto instead of the CVT on the QX50 and QX55.
MPG for the 2025 QX60 hasn’t been revealed yet, but usually, switching from a larger much smoother V6 to a 2.0 Liter Turbo only results in a 2/3 MPG improvement.
This also means a similar switch might be coming to the Nissan Pathfinder. And probably to the all-new redesigned 2025 Nissan Murano.
It seems the last big V6 available will probably be from Honda since they don’t seem to have a proper replacement to use in the Pilot or Passport yet.
Which might not be a bad thing…
