Honda Civic Hybrid test drive coming up.

Last Updated:

The Honda Civic is now available as a Hybrid. Both body styles sedan and hatchback are offered with the new powertrain.

I have been driving a loaded Sport Touring sedan version for a few days, and will soon report on my experience. So far, other reviews have been excellent.

When the current Honda Civic came out a few years ago, many missed the previous generation’s design. With this generation, the Civic had become much more conservative, trying hard to look more like an Accord. After 3 years, I think the design is still barely OK. It still looks like an older person’s car to me. While not ugly per se, there is really nothing very pleasant about the design.

For 2025, the Hybrid powertrain replaces the 1.5 Liter Turbo. As the base 2.0 Liter is still available in the LX and Sport trims. The cheapest Hybrid model is the Sport Hybrid which starts at $28,750. Or about $2500 more than the non-hybrid Sport model. However, the Sport Hybrid adds a sunroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control.

The Sport Touring model I am driving adds A Bose sound system and leather seats. As well as “Google “built-in” and wireless Carplay. For a $31,750 price.

No matter what version you’re getting, there will be no lumbar support adjustment or passenger seat height adjustment. Which is very odd. There is also no more Satellite Radio available since Google took over the screen. Just like in the current Accord. No more “70’s on 7” could spell doom on long trips.

The Civic Hybrid is rated at 50MPG Cityu and 47HWY. So far, I have been getting much better numbers. Which is pretty fantastic.

  1. Camry drives like absolute crap, so enjoy that slow POS for a few extra mpgs which don’t really matter at this level
