2026 Honda Pilot changes.

It looks like Honda didn’t wait for the 2027 model year to revise the Pilot SUV after all. The Pilot is getting a new face for 2026, and a few other unnecessary minute changes here and there.

As you can see, the main event for the new year is that new face. And it basically ruins the whole thing. The Pilot’s front end was never considered a thing of beauty, but this is just really bad. That blocky, blunt redesign of the front end crafted to the exact same car is just not working at all. After the 2025 Civic revisions, it seems Honda is incapable of doing a proper mid-cycle facelift without ruining things.

This is the official word from Honda: “Honda has advanced the rugged, family-friendly Honda Pilot for the 2026 model year with several key upgrades inside and out. These include a larger touchscreen, a more premium and tech-rich interior, and major styling updates with vibrant new colors. Improved steering feel and a quieter cabin enhance both driving enjoyment and overall comfort, and safety features have been upgraded as well. The 2026 Honda Pilot begins arriving at dealerships next month.”

A better steering feel will be an improvement. Especially if it comes to the Passport. Which feels like a 1972 Ford LTD on the road.

I guess inside the main changes are a larger screen and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda also claims the whole thing is even quieter. Something that will be hard to notice in an already very quiet ride.

The main change will come with the next generation and its new V6 Hybrid powertrain. The current V6 is fantastic, but has horrible MPG. I was only able to get 23MPG on the freeway the last time I drove the Passport. Which is not really acceptable for a 5-seater SUV in 2025.

  1. Looks like the 3 row segment is really cooking for 2026. Major models in this segment are either all new (Telluride/Palisade) or refreshed (Pilot, Grand Cherokee, Pathfinder). The Telluride/Palisade being all new are likely the catalyst for HONDA doing the refresh now and not 2027.

  3. I usually don’t like rugged looks as it usually looks old but in this case it looks good and more modern on the front end. I personally prefer the styling of the non trail sport front end. It looks more beefy, tough, and modern than before.

  4. They finally put the Accord Touring’s 12-inch touchscreen in the Pilot. If only they didn’t cheap out on the refreshed 2026 CR-V. Even the top trim level 2026 CR-V Sport Touring still only has a 9-inch screen, no 360 camera, no ventilated front seats and no heated rear seats.

  6. Come on Vince if you’re gonna bitch about Honda gas mileage you better bitch about Toyota gas mileage as well. I mean Tacoma’s can’t break 23 miles per gallon and tundra is definitely can’t and Sequoia’s. Don’t even make me laugh.

  7. These looks aint got nothing on the 2027 Telluride. Yall over here prasing this like it is amazing. First of all it is just another SUV with slanted C pillars and the front end looks.like last generation Chevy Equinox.
