New Chrysler Airflow Looks Much Cheaper Than Expected.

These new illustrations show us what the all-new Chrysler Airflow could look like. They look very similar to the ones I posted a few days (or is it weeks already?) ago. All are inspired from Chrysler’s official image from a video presentation.

Stellantis mentioned 2 distinct models from Chrysler coming soon. One, the Arrow, will be based on the Fiat Grizzly. That’s the one with the “sub-$30,000” starting price. Which is actually not that cheap for something based on a Fiat. Most people think it will basically be a rebadged version of the Fiat Grizzly. With only a Chrysler specific front and rear ends. And maybe a redesigned interior. Or not.

Ralph Gilles from Stellantis apparently does not like the word “rebadging: ” we’re careful how we design them, so it works. In this case it works great. We’re finding the clientele is not much different. Whether they live in Europe or here they have the same need. So why go crazy spending a lot of money on sheetmetal that is not needed to satisfy the customer?” To me that actually means a rebadge. But what do I know…

The car pictured above is the larger and more expensive new Chrysler Airflow. A terrible name for something that angular looking. But the main issue is how cheap it looks. Just look at the black plastic rear end. The Arrow looks like something that would cost way bellow $30,000. But it won’t. It will be closer to $40,000. This is NOT the cheap Chrysler coming soon.

The Airflow might even come first, since it is rumored to showcase Chrysler’s new design direction. Which, by the way, is the opposite direction from the halcyon concept we saw less than 2 years ago. Remember when all future Chryslers were going to be inspired by the Halcyon? I guess not anymore.

So far the plan is to introduce the airflow with a mix of powertrains choices, including an EV version. Which I think is pretty wise. At least for a while.

I guess we might have to wait a while for a new 300 sedan. And even longer for an Imperial or a Cordoba…

(sad face…)

  1. While I still have hope, Chrysler’s new styling direction reminds me of Cadillac the most, with a Volvo-esque fascia…Coming soon with Fiat engineering!

  2. Most people don’t even know what a FIAT is, less a Grizzley. Badge engineering only becomes an issue if both are in the public consciousness and both are regularly seen. AND there’s a large price difference and/or dealership locations. FIAT sold 160 units in the USA in 2025.

  3. I agree with Neal. It looks like its inspired by Cadillac (and Hyundai – in a much cheaper execution)

  4. It actually looks like Chrysler took the Dodge journey and tried to make it look like an ionic 5 without really changing the basic Dodge journey.

  5. Over the years we’ve had good experiences with Chrysler products going back to the Concorde.
Pull your maintenance, don’t overheat them and drive somewhat sane … the have lasted and been reliable doing so.

  6. What is this crap. This thing is the most ugliest thing to happen this isn’t a Chrysler this is a disaster. The American car companies are going downhill. Everything made today has no characteristic no nothing except something thrown together for a bunch of consumers who have no taste in if so the 300 would be alive the concorde all the Chrysler vehicles would still be here including the best the town and country. Chrysler needs to wake up and hire people who has a passion for really things to happen instead of hiring someone who’s just there for a paycheck. Instead of creating new crap how about we go back to the originals like the fifth Ave the New Yorker the Concorde and give life to a brand that should be challenging European cars. Death to SUVs and pickups That’s the problem. Sedans coupes wagons and minivans should have lived on not this contraption.

  7. This vehicle looks like it was heavily influenced by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It’s not a direct copy, but it has a lot of the same flavor.

I think it wouldn’t look as cheap as it does if the rear bumper was body colored instead of unpainted black plastic. The lower part that houses the license plate could still be black plastic, but the upper part that connects to the bottom of the vertical taillights and forms the actual rear bumper needs to be body colored.

The “Airflow” name is completely wrong for this vehicle. The name suggests something sleek and aerodynamic (which doesn’t match the design) and most modern buyers probably aren’t familiar with the name’s history. I still think “Conquest” would work much better than “Airflow”.

I’m not fond of the door handle design. It looks too much like the old flip up handles on 80’s/90’s vehicles. I still think the pull out handles have more style and presence. They may not be as aerodynamic as the flush flip up or hidden handles, but I think they look much better.

  8. YUCK! Are you kidding me with that. That looks nothing like a Chrysler. What is wrong with this company?

  9. The original design they showed over 2 years ago was a much more classy look. (It was white). Chrysler really dropped the ball when they decided to change the “minivan” and bring back the Pacifica name. Doomed from the start

  10. The return of the Chrysler Cordoba and the Gran Fury as the possible 4 door version is exactly what Chrysler needs to put the company back where it belongs in the mix of American Automakers. Maybe show a liitle thinking outside the box, open a new plant in the Western U.S. maybe in Colorado,Arizona,California or Washington.

  11. What I am reading makes perfect sense, Chrysler Cordoba makes a comeback as a 2door offering and the 4 door could be packaged under the old Plymouth trademark as Chrysler Gran Fury. They should scrap this airflow junk and offer a more recognizable SUV as a sporty Chrysler Le Baron and a luxurious Imperial. They already have a great success with Pacifica which is the number 1 selling minivan. Do you think they should offer a small truck and what should they call it??

  13. Chrysler should bring in a steadfast and solid car like Le Baron or Cordoba. You go with what you know will work and not what might be a hopeful lucky shot in the dark, that SUV looks like a Volvo that needs a diet pill!

  14. Time to get new stylists. Just because it is different doesn’t make it a winner. What market is it targeted for? Does the design attract people or drive them away. This design, clearly, doesn’t know if it is a Tesla or an aerodynamic brick. But regardless, I wish you great success CHRYSLER!
