I think Cadillac has done a fantastic job with the new 2025 XT5 interior.
This is exactly what it should be, while not trying to look like a BMW or Mercedes interior. On the other hand, it is really too bad the current generation never got anything like this since 2017. And the current XT6 interior is actually becoming a disgrace compared to this.
As previously mentioned, this new XT5 is not scheduled to come over here, where the Lyriq has become more popular. The Lyriq does have a great interior too, and a much more luxurious and powerful Ultium-based EV powertrain. Since this new XT5 is now only using the 2.0 Liter Turbo engine while the smooth 3.6 Liter V6 is gone.
Would a new design boost sales in the US? GM doesn’t think it’s worth the investment especially since the Lyriq is doing so well these days. And the more affordable Cadillac Optiq will probably be even more popular when it becomes available.
Colors! Love this interior. We should get this update with a standard hybrid power train. The Lyriq is cool, but not everyone wants an EV.
