Cadillac Brougham.

Last Updated:

The image above shows what a future Cadillac Brougham luxury sedan could look like if GM was still into the luxury sedan business that is…

Cadillac‘s current sedans, the CT4 and CT5 are aging fast. The CT4 was heavily based on the previous Cadillac ATS that came out over 10 years ago. At the same time, we’ve seen a constant flow of new SUVs from the brand.

However, we already know Cadillac is working on 2 new sedan models based on the Ultium platform. Both models will have a fastback design. One will be a large sedan while the other will probably replace both the CT4 and CT5.

GM has used the name “Brougham” for almost 100 years, which is quite amazing. It was, for many years, used to name the fanciest Cadillac cars like an Eldorado concept, the series 70, series Sixty special, and others.

Later in 1977, the largest Cadillac was sold as the Fleetwood Brougham until 1986. It just became the Cadillac Brougham from 1987 to 1992. By that time, the big RWD Cadillac had become a weird huge sedan that just didn’t belong in the 1990s automotive landscape. Basically, a late 1970s sedan that seemed like a strange zombie dinosaur. It was eventually replaced by the much more modern-looking Fleetwood in 1993.

“Brougham” is such an old-fashioned name it would actually be fun to use it on a very modern Cadillac.

A new top-of-the-line Cadillac, that, unlike the new Celestiq, wouldn’t have to cost the price of a Rolls Royce. This could more easily compete with the Mercedes S-Class or the EQS and BW i7.

And maybe once again, on their way to the airport, people could be whisked away in a large luxurious sedan instead of a giant brick-like truck SUV like the Escalade…

  1. That would be awesome. I think Cadillac is an amazing, luxurious vehicle. Even. Tho I cannot afford one , Brougham Cadillac I think ; despite it being a concept would get the attention of many. Like when tesla first came out. It’s like a new toy.

  2. I wish this would come to fruition but I cannot see that Cadillac will ever do something so edgy and they’ll sell cars to a younger audience. All of their vehicles except for Escalade and to a degree Lyric (could have been so much better and hotter). Seriously, they could make great cutting edge vehicles that are safe and sell but divert back to a vanilla, old man company.

  3. I think we are going to see some really amazing vehicles coming from Cadillac and I have to agree. Let’s bring back “The Classic
” nameplates. Though the CT5 is nice, the CT4 is too small for my liking and I do not care for the high tech looking plastics. I like the wood.

  4. I own a 2023 Cadillac CT5. I have revered th Cadillac brand since I was a child in the 50’s. Everything I saw a Cadillac drive up my block I stopped to admire the most beautiful “masterpiece of motordom” (Cadillac’s ad description). Now I own two Cadillacs, I finally arrived the wherewithal to be a Cadillac owner.
Before the CT5 I leased a Honda Accord.
The Honda had every feature and convenience that my CT5 has at half the cost. The Honda actually was roomier and handled as well with similar power of the Cadillac’s 4 cylinder turbo. The CT5 is beautiful but so was the Accord. I’m quite proud to be a Cadillac owner and love looking down at the steering wheel to see that noble Cadillac Crest staring back at me. So I finally have my childhood dream at my fingertips as I zoom along the interstate…a real sense of arrival…but I must admit…I’m quite disappointed.

  5. When will the brougham and El Dorado be on production in the USA? I really love these two models classy with a retro look but elegant. Time for me to trade in my CT5 looking for something different but I want to stay in the Cadillac family and I’m not ready for EV. I don’t care for suvs.

  6. I’m a big man and I need a big car. I have a 2011 DTS that I love, but I would be interested in seeing a BIG Cadillac again. All the other cars are too small for me.

  7. I drive a 2018 CT6. Why did they stop making them. I’m really impressed with the smooth ride and how it handles. They should bring it back and those other big concept cars.
