2026 Jeep Compass.

Jeep just released a brand new teaser for the all-new next-generation Jeep Compass.
The brand doesn’t have much to say about the new car yet, and here is the official word so far:
“The Jeep® brand previewed the next-generation Compass, the first four-wheel-drive compact Jeep SUV built on the STLA Medium platform. True to the brand’s “Freedom of Choice” strategy, it will offer various multi-energy propulsion systems delivering affordable capability, top performance, and advanced technology. Debuting first in Europe in 2025 with production in Melfi, Italy, the new Jeep Compass will expand to North America and globally in 2026.”
I had no idea Jeep had an official “Freedom of Choice” strategy but apparently they do now. Although the new Wagoneer S is an EV and only an EV. It will probably be the same thing for the Recon. I guess that new freedom of choice only applies to their smaller models…
As you can see from the teaser image, the new Compass will look much sleeker than the current model. It also seems longer but that could just be the design.
The STLA Medium platform is already being used by various Stellantis models, in Europe. Like the new Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008. As well as the new Opel Grandland 2.
The current Compass is the second generation that came out in 2016. This means it will be about 10 years old when replaced in the US by the new one. And yet, sales were up last year with over 96,000 units sold in the US. Almost 85,000 already this year.
The new Compass is part of an all-new Jeep lineup coming soon. (Let’s hope we also see a couple of new Chrysler models)
Which will include the all-new Renegade and its $25,000 EV version. The new Recon is still scheduled to be introduced later this year and available in early 2025. There is also a mysterious “mainstream utility vehicle” on the horizon. Whatever that means.
Maybe a raised wagon to compete against the Subaru Outback? Wouldn’t that be fine…
Everytime the heat builds, Stellantis brings out some vague promise. A sketch, not even a full rendering or a prototype! And the new Chrysler? I’ll believe it when one them hits me crossing the street. Tavares will say anything.
