Toyota RAV4+ EV.
Last Updated:

Just a few days ago Toyota launched an updated version of the BZ4X as well as the brand new C HR+ EV. Both share the same platform and since the BZ4X interior was redesigned, they also seem to share interior dashboards. Even if the C-HR+ is smaller and chapter, the two EVs are closely related.
Toyota has also released a teaser showing 3 more upcoming EV models. The top lineup is their current EV offering in Europe. The BZ4X, the new Urban Cruiser for the European market. And the upcoming C-HR+.

2 of the other models underneath are pretty recognizable. The one on the right seems to be the production version of the gorgeous Land Cruiser SE concept we saw last year, which is supposed to start production in the US late this year or next year. The middle vehicle looks like the EPU pickup EV concept from 2023.

That third one is quite a mystery.
However, Toyota is currently developing another EV model for themselves and Subaru. It will have a more formal SUV shape and will be sold in the US as well as Europe. And again, the only difference between the Subaru and Toyota versions will mostly be the front end. Which is a bit too bad.
Toyota officials have also mentioned that future EVs will be using “existing and familiar Toyota nameplates”. That will soon mean goodbye to idiotic names like BZ4X. However, it is interesting to note that the revised BZ4X just introduced is still using the “old” name.
The new naming system will start with the C-HR+. Using the C-HR name while both cars are actually unrelated. This will probably be the same thing for that mistery new EV that will probably be called RAV4 +.
It seems all the kids are doing it. Mercedes will also dump the “EQ” brand and just use their usual names for their next EVs.
The new EV is also rumored to have a shape that is very similar to the 2026 RAV4. Since the regular Hybrid RAV4 seems to be just around the corner, I would expect the new EV version to be released sometime after.
I’ve been hearing rumblings of a Toyota Highlander return, but solely as an EV. The Grand Highlander will continue as the gas/gasoline-hybrid option.
