Ford Maverick Lobo.

The new 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo pays homage to something I didn’t know existed: the street truck culture.
I have seen many lowered trucks before but had no idea it was an actual culture. Unlike some of these crazy lowered trucks, the new Maverick Lobo still looks like it is quite driveable.
It is powered by the 2.0 Liter Turbo engine, so it’s far from slow. And it can be optioned to be quite luxurious too. With a heated steering wheel, a sunroof, and more.
The interior is basically the same as the revised 2025 Maverick, with better seats. Although these headrests still look pretty thin to me.
Steering, transmission, and brakes have all been upgraded over the regular Maverick. There’s even a “Lobo mode” Ford compares to the Mustang‘s “Track mode”.
I think this is a very cool idea. Ford mentions this is a “canvas for modern street truck builds”. Which is fine as long as the “canvas” isn’t too pricey to begin with. This will unfortunately not be the case with a starting price of $36,600, or $42,100 loaded.
Deliveries will start early next year.
Ford BETTER IMPROVE amenities for the 2025 Bronco Sport. The one I test-drove was just horrible with lackluster interior plastics, performance, and handling. Although it is designed to be a ” spartan tough work mule” it was just way too expensive. Again, I hope Ford makes major improvements to the 2025 models which is supposed to get a refresh.
I wouldn’t say culture unless we are talking the ‘mini’ truck craze of the early to mid 90’s that included clubs full of Mazda B2200’s w/ KMC Hammer rims. It was quite big in S. Florida during those days. I think this ties instead to the performance-oriented truck movement of the 90’s w/ the Chevy 454SS, GMC Typhoon/Cyclone and Ford F150 Lighting SVT’s.
