2026 Hyundai Palisade.
Last Updated:
The all-new Hyundai Palisade will be available with a 9-seat trim in its home market. The top photos show what that strange setup looks like.
This 9-seat configuration will allow the new Palisade owners to drive in the bus lanes in Korea. Which I guess was what some people were asking for.
Of course, this will not be coming in the US next year when the North American version of the new Palisade will be unveiled. What we will be getting is the all-new Hybrid option. Which produces 330HP using a 2.5 Liter Turbo engine and an electric motor. However, the base engine is not a smooth V6 anymore, but a non-hybrid version of the 2.5 Liter turbo with 277HP. At least in its home market. We don’t know yet if the base engine will come to the US or if Hyundai decides to make the Hybrid powertrain standard. Which I think would be a great idea.
Prices for the new model have risen by about $3000 in Korea. Which could translate to a starting price in the US of around $40,000 instead of the current $36,800. Which would still be quite a good deal.
The new palisade is also longer by about 2.5 inches, with a wheelbase also longer by about 3 inches. The new generation is based on an updated version of the current platform.
I think the new Hyundai Palisade is a huge step forward from its predecessor. I never liked the original Palisade design and thought it looked old the day it came out unlike its cousin the Kia Telluride which seemed so much more modern outside. The new one looks much more cohesive and it seems the work of one team heading in the same direction. Instead of a bunch of designers each in charge of a small part of the car.
It is really too bad about the V6. It seems Honda and Mazda will eventually be the last ones to use the smooth and creamy 6-cylinder engine in their larger models.
Now let’s see what the new Kia Telluride will look like…
Wouldn’t take this over the new Murano
