Cadillac Eldorado Coupe.
Last Updated:

We have not seen a new Cadillac Eldorado Coupe since 2002 when sales had drastically come down to just 5661 units. A third of what they were 3 years before. It took 7 years for Cadillac to come up with another coupe with the 2009 CTS Coupe. A striking-looking car, but of course, not an Eldorado.
Since we have seen a few very nice 2 door coupe concepts from Cadillac. A few like the Elmiraj or Ciel, would have made great new Eldorado models. As we know, that never happened. Instead, we have more and more SUVs.
If there was to be a new Cadillac Eldorado would of course be based on GM’s Ultium platform. A super quiet and fast Cadillac coupe with over 300 miles of range would surely attract a few people. It might not sell as well as their SUVs, but it would basically be a giant advertising poster for the brand. Something I’m afraid the $340,000 Celestiq won’t be. Since it’s not relatable to any but a few billionaires looking for a cool new toy.
We will soon see what the future new Cadillac sedans look like. As far as we know, they will of course be Ultium-based. However, a recent rumor mentioned an updated, more upscale platform called BEV Prime. Both new sedans will have a fastback profile.
A big coupe based on the larger sedan would be a welcome addition to the historical brand. And of course, the legendary “Eldorado” name is ready to go

Burlapp…………You are killing me with common-sense product planning. Why can’t the MBAs at GM get it?
GM isn’t that smart any more. Just putting out copy cat SUV’s. No more Malibu. No more Impala. Use to sell over 1 million Impalas back in the day. Buick?? Where’s the duce and quarter. Rival to Cadillac. Nope. Honda and Toyota still make great selling sedans. Maybe GM should go back to the drawing board. Fire the MBA’s and hire auto design people. That would be way too smart!!! The CEO Mary would then lose her job. Wait!! She could get hired at Tesla!!! Ok, I vented.
They make “Plain- Jane” cars with “Zero” stille. They all look similar, kinda like a bar of soap. And nothing that really says, hey, look at me.
I can use a Caddilac
I’ve had Cadillac s a 79 ElDo and 85 coupe DeVille
I’d love to see a Caddy with a Hybrid added to there all electric lineup, or offered in all of there models. Once they get the solid state batteries and can go 500 + miles people will fell better
I fell in love with Cadillacs when I was 10 and saw the ’53 Caddy. I drove my first, when I was 14 (’56). I bought my first, when I was 21 (’60 convertible). I’ve had over a dozen in my life and I agree that my love is not what it used to be for the current issues. Wake up Cadillac division. P.S. I still have a Cadillac Eldorado convertible a la 1972.
