Chrysler 300.

Last Updated:

The last generation Chrysler 300 ended production on December 8, 2023. Of course, by then, it was as popular as it had been in the past years. With only 13,169 units sold in 2023. Which isn’t that terrible for a design that came out 12 years earlier.

At around the same time, Stellantis also killed the Dodge Challenger. While the Dodge models morphed into the brand new Charger available in both 2 and 4 doors, there is no replacement for the Chrysler 300.
The new STLA large platform is used for the new 2025 Dodge Charger. But also for the Jeep Wagoneer S and the upcoming Recon. You would think the cost of designing a Chrysler body on top of that same platform would not be prohibitive, and a great way to revive the old brand. We have previously heard that a new SUV based on the STLA large platform is coming as a Chrysler. Which would obviously be closely related to the future Dodge Stealth EV SUV and the Dodge Wagoneer S.
So why not a new Chrysler sedan based on the new 4-door Charger? If Stellantis thinks there is a market for a large Dodge EV sedan, there is probably one for a large Chrysler EV sedan as well. This would be a more luxurious version that could compete with higher-end cars like the new A6 Audi e-Tron sedan. Or even the Mercedes EQE sedan and BMW i5.
Something with a definite American flair could be popular. Just like the Chrysler 300 was a very American alternative to foreign sedans.
The first generation Chrysler 300 came out in 2004 and was designed by Ralph Gilles, who is now the chief design officer at Stellantis, by the way. The great design emphasized the big American sedan feel of the car while being only a couple of inches longer than a Toyota Avalon. The RWD platform and available V8 completed the total transformation from the previous Chrysler Concorde.
A second generation came out in 2011 and wasn’t as original. But an evolution and a refined version of the 1st generation. I personally think it still looks great today, almost 15 years later.
I think a 3rd generation could reinvent the Chrysler 300 for the modern age. The “300” names still mean something to many, unlike older names like “Concorde” or “New Yorker”. The illustration above shows a design that is obviously inspired by the previous 2 generations. And that is probably what many Chrysler 300 fans would want.
The Chrysler Halcyon concept we saw is a complete departure from any other previous Chrysler models and does look great. But that concept was in no way previewing a production car and looked more like a Science Fiction movie prop. Unlike the Dodge Charger and Jeep Wagoneer concepts.

No matter what it looks like, a new luxurious Chrysler sedan would be great news.

  1. Chrysler should have a 300 replacement. However, it shouldn’t attempt to be a Tier1 competitor. It will lose that fight terribly. It should target the Lexus, Acura, Genesis and Toyota Crown bunch. And not an EV, but a hybrid. The people that would buy it are going to be nostalgic and American car buyers, and unfortunately that means largely a lower price category. Can’t do that on EV pricing. But they could on hybrid pricing.

  2. Is a Audi or Cadillac oh is a 300 Chrysler still with you own line please… personal I don’t like it… easily you can get confused 😵‍💫

  4. Ok this could work also but as u know American car makers shoot themselves in the foot with all the waiting and refusal to change body styles in a quicker fashion.

  5. I totally disagree, with such class, style and pizzazz I see how stallantis is clearly taking notes from the culture that’s intrigued with great expectations for a reasonable retail price

  9. I have had 3 chrysler 300s in the last 12 years. I just keep upgrading as the car keeps upgrading. I believe if you upgrade it again it will be amazing, and I would upgrade again. I love the 300. All the other cars look the same.

  10. Bring back the 300 concept looks great! the interior is out class the rest

  11. Would love to see a redesigned Chrysler 300 would definitely consider buying.

  12. I think Stellantis should go back and make the cars like the Chrysler 300s and chargers and others with gas engines.

  13. Killing off 300 in 2023 and being back the dodge variant but not reviving Chrysler 300 I’m a c300 fan from experiencing both generations of300s I would b there for 3th and 4th is it was one to come I believe Chrysler should have a c400 and a c500 in which the c500 should be a SUV or crossover

  14. I’ve owned a 2006 300 base model awd and a 2015 300S rwd. They are fun driving cars and I love the look of the 300 l hope Stella’s remakes the 300’s. I would buy the 300S again.

  15. My 2018 Chrysler 300 Touring scarlet red out and white inside has been a magnet for the public, “what a beautiful car,”. We had a 2013 before dark brown. Had offers, will not sell, but waiting for my next same model hopefully. Smooth and powerful. 34 miles to gal was best for full size car.

  16. I like it. With a seeming increase in sedan interest this could be a winner. I’ve driven Chryslers, Dodges, and Jeeps for 56 years without a cull among them. Anyone who thinks they make junk is not being fair in assessment imo.

  17. I gave up on Chrysler when I realized they were dissolving SRT and we’d never get a 300 HELLCAT. I’ve owned three Chrysler 300 cars: a 2006 v6, a 2006 SRT8 and a 2012 SRT.
In that same amount of time, I’ve watched Hyundai take “Genesis” and make it a entry-luxury vehicle. This is the reason they wanted to separate Hyundai and Genesis. No one who spends this much on a car wants the same service you’d get buying the cheap cars. Without a separate SRT division, CDJR service only got worse – and worse. I’ve since traded my Hellcat Charger in and taken my money over to Cadillac and Mercedes. Carlos Tavares should be in PRISON for what he did to CDJR. And they won’t sell the products either – that’s their foothold into the American market even if they turn out crap. It seems to me, they were always gonna let Chrysler and Dodge fizzle out.

  18. I love my chrysler300. I was gonna buy a new one this year but decided to wait till next year. Do not change the body style the one now is perfect. These cars r not only a great price but run great! Mine is only a 2013 with 201,000 miles no problems except for the regular issues that come with how much miles r on it!

  19. I Love my Chrysler 300. I was planning on buying a new one this year but decided to wait for next year. Mine is only a 2013 has 2001 miles on it and still goes. I’ve only had the normal issues as far as the miles on it, that’s it but anyway, please do not change. The body style of the body style is perfect. I love it. Can’t wait to get a new one next year.

  20. The 2021 Chrysler 300 S Which I Own Was So Beautifully Designed And Roomy Let’s Fire Up The Production Again And Keep Them Rolling Oh You Gotta Have The Panoramic Sunroof

  21. You’re waiting to buy a new one next year? We’re talking about a car that stopped being produced in December 2023 here…

  22. Love the 300!! I think it’s beautiful. Sadly my 300C was t-boned bad and was totalled. It had everything! Black on black too. I have the 300S now.. They couldn’t find the “C” I wanted. Still beautiful but not all the bells and whistles. BRING THE 300 BACK!!

  23. I have 2 2009 touring n 2007c. Both still going strong! Son has 2018 touring. These are true American cars.no major problems other than the normal. Chrysler, you keep making them, and Americans will keep buying them!!

  24. Currently own 2013 300s. 297,00K it has been to Canda and Mexico and 21 states. Best car I have ever owned. It accelerates better than the BMW 540, the SAAB Turbo and most of the other cars I’ve owned. It’s only had minor issues and it still runs great.

  25. It looks like a Cadillac, I love this car, I want to trade my Chrysler 300 in for this one
