Chrysler New Yorker.

While Chrysler seems to be in limbo right now, we keep hearing new models inspired by the Halcyon concept are on their way. So why not imagine what a big new Chrysler New-Yorker sedan could look like? One that could be “inspired” by the Halcyon.
The new Dodge Charger EV and ICE came out, and the 4-door sedan version has just been released. For now, the only Charger trims available start at over $51,000 for the 6-cylinder R/T trim. Quite pricey, especially for a Dodge. A less expensive future RWD one-motor model was rumored for a while.
A 4-door Chrysler sedan based on the 4-door Charger doesn’t seem like it would cost a fortune to develop.
The Chrysler CEO has already mentioned that all their upcoming new models would be based on the Halcyon concept design language. And the first new model will, of course, be an SUV.
The first Chrysler New Yorker was produced in 1940, and the last one in 1996. Through many generations, it went from a giant luxury RWD sedan to a much smaller FWD model based on Chrysler’s LH cab-forward platform.
Of course, a new EV sedan based on the STLA platform could be anything Stellantis wants. RWD, FWD, or AWD. EV, Hybrid, or gas.
The Halcyon concept is actually quite an enigma. The production car could look like anything since the concept doesn’t look at all like something near production. I really like the Halcyon, but I think a translation to production would be really hard to do.
A new, large Chrysler very modern Chrysler sedan with the New-Yorker name would be kind of fun…
