Guessing the 2027 Nissan Rogue.

While Nissan just released a “new” Rogue Hybrid for 2026, it is just a Mitsubishi Outlander with Nissan badges here and there. However, a “real” new Nissan Rogue is coming next year for the 2027 model year. This will be an all-new design. The illustrations above seem to do a pretty good job at trying ot guess what the new SUV will look like.

They look pretty close to the many spy shots we have already seen of the next-generation Rogue. And it seems like it won’t be a crazy departure from the current model. Which is pretty wise from Nissan. Since the Rogue still sold almost 250,000 units last year.

A brand new generation will probably boost the number even higher, especially since a new Hybrid trim will be available. The new Hybrid will use the 3rd generation of Nissan’s e-Power system. It uses a gas engine as a battery generator and an electric motor to power the car. I drove the system in Europe and few weeks ago and really found it a bit ridiculous.

It mostly drives like an electric car, except that once in a while, the engine comes on to charge the battery. Which does feel and sound weird. It basically gives you the feel of an EV while still using gas. And the average MPG isn’t that great, since you are carrying a big battery and an electric motor.

It is a pretty ridiculous idea if you ask me. If you like the way an EV drives, just get an EV with a 300-mile range. If you don’t want an EV, get a gas car. And if you just want to save a bit of gas, just get a regular hybrid.

  1. Vince, not everyone needs an EV, and the sales are really low now days.
I think hybrids are the way to go as you get the best of both worlds.
I had a 2024 Rogue Platinum, it drove really nice with some glitches on the tablet and Carplay connection.
I was getting an average of 34 MPG in a 120 miles range in Texas doing almost 80 MPH in an AWD. I loved it but I don’t understand why the lose their value that much as in comparison to others. Even reviews are not that favorable either, most complaining about the 3 cylinder turbo on current model.
I think that new design is nice and I wouldn’t mind getting another one.

  2. Rear looks pretty accurate and good, front looks fairly accurate, if a little too curved. The proportions of the front seemed like the artist took them from a Sedan, like the Sentra.

  3. btw – The Outlander is just a Nissan Rogue with Mitsubishi’s powertrain (PHEV). So Nissan is just borrowing it back with the PHEV system.
