Should Chrysler revive the 300 sedan?

I am not talking about the classic old “letter series” Chrysler three hundred. What we are talking about here is the more recent Chrysler 300 produced for 2 generations, from 2004 to 2023. A sister car to the Dodge Charger, Challenger, and Dodge Magnum during these years.
These cars were originally based on the RWD Chrysler LX platform that was, at the time, using some parts from Mercedes. The second generation used that same platform, including suspension design derived from Mercedes. The first generation was a glorious return of the big American RWD sedan. And yet a very modern car as well. And quite popular with 113,000 sold in its first full year. Up to over 144,000 the next year. However, things mostly went downhill after 2007. All the way down to almost nothing. or 5,295 units sold in 2024.
Numbers like this don’t make it easy to imagine a return of the Chrysler 300. However, by 2024, the generation car was over 13 years old.
It is really unclear where the large sedan market is in the US since no one offers one anymore. The Camry and Accord are still doing very well. And that’s about it. There has been hope recently with Cadillac announcing a next-generation CT5 sedan. And a rumor mentioning a sister car from Chevrolet could be in the works as well. There’s also a new Q50 from Infiniti coming. And a hybrid version of the Genesis G80.
Dodge also just launched the 4-door sedan version of the Charger. Available as an EV or a gas 6-cylinder turbo. It will be very interesting to see how the 4-door Charger is doing. A new Chrysler sedan could depend on the Didge success, since both cars would no doubt use the STLA platform.
