Lancia Ypsilon.

After seeing better official photos of the new Lancia Ypsilon, I like it a lot!
Sure, the concept we saw last year was very odd with very sporty proportions. But the new Ypsylon isn’t a production version of the Pu+Ra HPE concept, it is a Lancia version of the small Stellantis e-CMP2 platform, also used by every single European Stellantis brand. Like Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Opel, Fiat and now Lancia. And even Jeep with a specific European model. (Alfa Romeo is next with the Milano).
When compared to the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600, you can tell how different they all are. Stellantis actually did a great job making sure all these designs looked very different, with their own personalities.
I also like the interior a lot. Again, I think it is different and unique but not too strange or weird. The seats are even covered in velvet, which is a nice reminder of earlier Lancia models from decades ago.
The new Lancia EV is powered by a 156Hp electric motor with a 51 kWh battery good for 251 miles in the European test cycle. These specs are of course similar to other Stelantis models based on the e-CMP2 platform. A Hybrid version will probably be available later as well.
The new Ypsilon also marks Lancia’s return to the European market. For the past few years, their only model produced has been the old Ypsilon, a car that came out in 2011 and was only sold in Italy since 2017. The new Ypsilon will be sold through 70 new dealers in Belgium, the Netherlands, France Spain, and Germany. This is of course great news for Lancia, but also for Stelantis. Proving they have what it takes to save an old brand Sergio Marchionne wanted to kill so desperately.
I hope Chrysler is next. The new Halcyon concept doesn’t look like a production car, just like the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE concept. I just hope the actual production new Chrysler model we’ll see next year looks great.
As for Lancia, a new compact Crossover is next, followed by a 5-door fastback Gamma CUV in 2026. And a new Delta hatchback later.
Let’s again hope Chrysler will get the same amount of love Stelantis is showing to Lancia.
Looks like the Toyota C-HR, so not very original.
once you compare it to the Opel Corsa and/or the Peugeot 208 you do realize they simply took the Corsa and changed front and rear. the side is identical (they just changed the location of the rear door handles).
this one looks like the toyota C-HR in that it, too, has 5 doors and 4 wheels. Elsewhere, you need glasses.
