2025 Tesla Model Y new battery.
Last Updated:
A new leak from China claims the revised 2025 Tesla Model Y will get a larger 95kWh all-new battery.
At least on higher-end models. For the Chinese market, the long-range AWD model uses a 78.4kWh battery. While in the US the same model uses an 81kWh battery. That setup is rated at a 308-mile range in the US.
The Chinese leak also mentions the new battery would come with a 110-mile range increase. Which would put the US long-range AWD version at around 420 miles, which is a huge jump. If that same battery was used in the long-range RWD model its range could possibly go up to 440 miles.
However, the Chinese and US market Teslas don’t always use the same batteries for some models. And we might not see that huge increase in range over here.
But if we do, it will make the 2025 Model Y much more desirable than new front/rear ends and a 2024 Model 3 interior.
The revised Model Y is expected to come out early next year, or maybe before in China. And it might be the only new model from Tesla for quite some time…
