Cadillac Fleetwood.

Last Updated:

How about another try and imagine what a next-generation Cadillac Fleetwood could look like?

It would be the largest Cadillac sedan available besides the crazy $340,000 Celestiq. Although this time it would have to be priced at under $100, 000 to be competitive against the Mercedes EQS or the ghastly BMW i7. And not trying to be a Rolls or Bentley.

The Fleetwood was one of the most luxurious cars the Cadillac ever made over the last decades. The “Fleetwood” name was usually added to a more mainstream sedan like the DeVille.

In 1993, the Fleetwood became its own model, based on the Cadillac Brougham platform. Which dated from the late 1970s Deville. The 1993 Fleetwood was quite a modern design when it came out. It almost looked like a weird production version of a Syd Mead design from some angles. And the master illustrator himself drove one for a while.

The Fleetwood courageously held on until 1996, with sales shrinking every year. By that time, a giant RWD sedan from Cadillac wasn’t what people wanted anymore. The CT6 and XTS were on their way. And especially, the truck-based Escalade. Which somehow ended up ruling the whole Cadillac brand and became their best seller, year after year…

However, we keep hearing Cadillac is working on two all-new sedan models based on the Ultium platform. So why not dream of a longer, more luxurious version of the largest one?

Something very, very different from the Escalade…

  1. I dont see the point of these AI rendered images. They aren’t based on anything and they really are all starting to look the same. I’m more interested in what actual trained people are designing. Either design school grads or manufacturers concepts and spy photos of upcoming production cars.

  2. Excellent design , and what the Celesque should look like .
    The name Fleetwood should return.
Rolls Royce , or Mercedes , Bentley( Maybach )does not cancel there famous names .

  3. U.S. vehicle buyers will NEVER go back to a traditional “car” because they have transitioned permanently into SUV/Crossover mindset for the uniquely American-sized mentality of huge, oversized, “bigger than you” vehicles.

  11. They really need to give these new designs a I.C.E. platform as well because simply going all electric is alienating the people who supported them during hard and unpopular times which are older people who vividly remember when Cadillac was the king
