Jaguar Type 00 Concept in the wild.

Last Updated:

Forget everything you previously thought about the new Jaguar concept. This thing looks amazing in the real world.

Last December, the new Jaguar Type 00 concept was unveiled in Miami with super cheesy pink and greenish colors. The real thing in a new “French Ultramarine” made a surprise appearance in Paris for Fashion Week a few days ago. And it looks quite stunning.

And yes, it makes such a strange impression that in a weird way, it is reminiscent of the Tesla Cyber Truck. It is so unusual and shocking. But also much more impressive than the Tesla. At least in concept form, the Jaguar Type 00 reminds me of a super luxury car from a futuristic science fiction film. And yes, it literally stands out in a crowd.

It’s also amazing what a new color can do. That new satin blue seems to absorb the light around the car and helps make it feel like it is from another dimension. Of course, the production version will not be exactly like this. And the changes made might ruin the impressive presence of the concept. From the many spy shots we have already seen, we know it will have 4 doors. Unlike the concept.

This is still an amazing gamble for Jaguar. However, seeing this concept in the real world gives me more hope. I think the real thing could turn out to be quite stunning. And seeing the concept at events like this helps most of us get used to the unique design. A very good move from Jaguar.

Here is what Jaguar has to say about the Type 00 concept :

“Type 00 previews what’s to come from Jaguar, as the brand recaptures the original ‘Copy Nothing’ ethos of its founder, Sir William Lyons.  Its world premiere was at Miami Art Week in December 2024.”

“Jaguar will come to life in a select number of these exclusive brand stores, located where clients live, work, and play. They allow us to build direct client relationships and offer unique and personalized experiences. These stores will embrace their local cultures, with the Paris location highlighting the city’s rich heritage in art and its status as the home of luxury fashion”.

The production model will be unveiled later this year at a starting price of around $120,000. Which is really not that much more than the Tesla Cyper Truck when you think of it…

  1. The front grille section lacks character as it looks like a wall. Everything else looks interesting.
