Audi Q6 e-Tron.

“Overtake your expectations”?

One thing is certain, there will be no surprises on March 18th, no matter what you might expect…

We have already seen almost everything there is to see about the new Audi Q6 e-Tron electric SUV a few months ago, when Audi showed a slightly camouflaged prototype. More than once. They even distributed official photos of the interior. We also know the new Q6 will have standard AWD and will be based on the new PPE platform. Just like the new Porsche Macan EV.

The new Audi Q6 will basically be Audi’s version of the new Macan EV. For less money, since it won’t start at $79 000. But is expected to start at around $65 000, which is right in between the current Q4 e-Tron and the Q8.

The new Macan EV range is expected to be around 320 in the US, which could be similar to the Audi.

The Q6 looks like a larger Q4. And also like any other Audi SUV for the past 10 years or so. So far, the Q4 has not been a success at all in the US. You would think its starting price of $ 48,900 with a decent 265-mile range would make it rather popular. But it’s not. The Q4 is pretty much a bust in the US, with only 5700 of them sold last year. It seems to me that an even more expensive Q6 model looking about 90% the same isn’t the perfect recipe for a hit… But what do I know…

I really don’t think anything announced on the 18th will overtake anyone’s expectations…

  1. I remember a time when Audi interiors were a step above all manufacturers in design and quality materials. It’s completely obvious in that interior photo, that other manufacturers have equalled, and in some cases surpassed Audi interior design engineering. Some even at much less cost.
