2026 Range Rover Velar EV

The Range Rover Velar is due for a total redesign in its 2nd generation. From the new spy shot above, it seems the new Range Rover could look pretty similar to this illustration I posted a few months ago.
The next-generation Velar will be an EV and will be competing against the new Porsche Macan EV. The current Velar starts at around $63,000. While the new Macan EV is priced at $79,000. An almost $20,000 bump in price compared to the previous ICE generation starting at around $61,000. And of course, such an increase doesn’t really matter for a brand like Porsche or Range Rover.
Apparently, the current platform could accommodate an EV powertrain, but it would not seem very realistic. Especially since Jaguar & Range Rover have been hard at work on a new EV platform for years. Something more modern and efficient is probably in the ecards.
Both brands have been pretty dormant for the past few years, especially Jaguar. It will be interesting to see what they come up with pretty soon.
The very first EV from the brand will be the Range Rover EV, which will be officially unveiled later this year. We will see the new Velar EV next year.
