2026 Toyota RAV4.

Last Updated:

This illustration shows a different idea of what a next-generation 2026 Toyota RAV4 could look like.

Something much more outdoorsy looking. A popular design trend these days, with cars like the Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport, but also new models from Toyota.

Like the 2024 Land Cruiser or the new 2025 4Runner. Back in 2018, the current generation was a huge design change from the 4th generation. Adopting a totally new design language that was previewed by the FT-AC concept earlier.

The Toyota RAV4 has become hugely popular in the US and around the world and Toyota might not want to roll the dice on the next one. Even if a more outdoorsy-looking design could be even more popular. As a matter of fact, it seems the new RAV4 could also end up being a heavy refresh of the current generation. With a redesigned front end, rear lights, and interior. Just like the 2025 Camry. Which would be tragic for those of us looking for something new to populate our streets and parking lots.

There is also a strong rumor about a hybrid-only line-up for 2026. Which has already been mentioned as a possibility by some Toyota suits. Since the Camry went all Hybrid for 2025, this would make a lot of sense…

  1. PLEASE HOPE THEY MAKE IT BOTH GAS AND ELECTRIC TOGETHER BECAUSE I ALREADY HAVE A 2023 RAV4 .

  2. This rendering only points to a possible direction. Toyota must walk a fine line to maintain RAV’s customer base but of course expand it, without being polarizing or catching a trend too late in the cycle. Camry was successful because it’s genuinely improved, including the worst styling aspect (previous front-end). Since the current RAV4 hybrid is widely regarded as superior to the crude gas model it would only make sense to apply the same process and offer a well-equipped hybrid-only lineup at a better price point. Hopefully the busy, overwrought bodyside rear quarter styling can be refined a bit as well.

  3. I like it! Love the design. Looks safe, and looks it will hold-up well during the winter months. Doesn’t look so compact as the other models. Would lovebto test drive it, when available.

  4. It looks very nice, but I truly hope Toyota offers A V6 option! I have a 2011 RAV4 with a V6. It’s like gold! everywhere I go everyone wants to buy it from me. That engine is one of the best ever by Toyota.

  5. Looks butchy/sportier than the current model. Somewhat like a shorter more stout version of the 4 runner.👍

  6. Good looking, but Toyota is selling those cars at execively high prices and going up, losing market share, Hybrids only will only make you spend even more money on them when battery dies, I have a Prius going for the 3rd battery and gasoline savings is gone with the cost of a new battery, beyond $3k for Prius C , beyond $5k for Regular Prius, imagine those PHEVs or EVs beyond $10k…
